was when my mom and dad finally received

away from the computer, for the most part.

well, unless you consider a jackalope a monster.

and he's now hanging on our living room wall.
the plaque he's on has a little seat/shelf for him to sit on
and he has a ring sewn to the back of his head,
which attaches to a hook on the plaque
so he can be taken out for adventures...
because what kind of life is it for a jackalope
to just hang on a wall all day?
though he does like his christmas bulb, his cosmo,
his holly, and his fancy shmancy crocheted scarf.

gomez came to be, due in part to me mentioning
to my dear friends jovi and tammy while they were here
visiting, that i wanted a jackalope to hang on my wall.
but i didn't want a real taxidermy bunny with antlers,
i just wanted a plush bunny with antlers.
we had just seen a "real" jackalope head on the wall in a store...
and in this same store...tammy and jovi found this bunny
AND antlers...it was simply meant to be.
they were only here for a short visit...
so, the job of "creating" the jackalope fell to matt and i.
my idea was to buy a baseball...rip open the back of the
bunny's head so we had something solid
to screw the antlers into...tahdah...it worked.
matt put some armature type wire in his arms so we could
pose them (and he could hold his alcoholic beverage)
and now we just have fun coming up with things for him
to wear and hold and such...and matt has even come up
with his next outfit...
oh just you wait...

anyway...
so...welcome, gomez elliot thistledown, to the world...

christmas light hero...

worth the watch...

i adore our christmas tree this year....

but...
i really have this thing for white christmas trees...
and matt REALLY does not...
someday, i think (hopehopehope) i may have to get one
and put it in a separate room...
look at some of this awesomeness...

i want a whoville tree...
all bright and colorful and on white.
and because i love my husband dearly,
i would never subject him to it as our main tree...
but omahdeargawd i want one soooooooo bad.

maybe someday...

busy busy busy...

still trying to finish up gifts for people...
and again i will say it is SO good (kind of)
that i have no feeling in my left hand
(though i could do without all the neck and arm pain)
with the amount of times i've stabbed my fingers
in the last couple of weeks. they look horrid,
and i bet they'd hurt if i could feel them.
of course if i could feel them,
i probably wouldn't be stabbing them.
and another annoying left hand numbness thing
is that my left hand typos are horrific.

but...on the good side of things...
we got our tree this past weekend and it's all up
and decorated with SO many ornaments...
(is there such a thing as too many?)
it doesn't help that i made almost 20 new felt ornaments
for this year. and with the colored lights, our tree
just looks like something you might want to eat.

why on earth would you even have a picture taken
of your child screaming on santa's lap?
most santas are almost as creepy as clowns...
who can blame those kids for screaming.

let it snow let it snow let it snow...

well, yesterday was a snow day for Munki...
the snow was gorgeous...
the snow started piling up...
the wind kicked in...
the temperature rose a bit...
said snow turned to sleet...
temperature rose some more...
said sleet turned to rain...
rain was accompanied by thunder and gnarly lightning...
goodbye gorgeous snow.

hello, ice and nasty looking, not so white anymore stuff...
i have been robbed of my beautiful snow.
it was really piling up too.
one pug was ecstatic...(Lucy)
the other (Olive) stood outside with one little paw up
just shaking and trembling as if being tortured...
ah, winter with the pugs.
they much prefer the blanket right in front of the space heater.

have a great thursday and do something stress free...
everyone gets so stressy this time of year.
be happy, not all in a rush...
treat people with some kindness...
it'll make you feel better, i promise.
smiling is good for you...try starting there.
and be nice to that cashier in the retail store
who may not do everything exactly as fast or as perfectly
as you'd like them to.
you've never seen crazy/rude/mean/malicious/etc etc etc
until you've worked at a retail store during the holidays..
i think everyone should have to do it at least once in their lives.
be kind to your cashiers...
your waitresses/waiters...(they deal with a lot too)
your postal workers...(i don't envy them this time of year)
and all those other people that are helping you out
this holiday season...

smile...say thank you...
and just have some patience and some common courtesy.

aaaaw...

well...still no real BuNnY MoNsTeRz updates...
and i am not going to update about myself here,
until i figure some stuff out.
but in the meantime...
you may oooh and aaaw at my jackalopes.

i AM going to re open the etsy shop and add a couple of items...
we'll see how things go from there.
i hope you all are doing well...
we finally got some snow and it makes me ecstatic!!!

quick update...

again, i apologize for the lack of updates...
but between medical appointments...
narcotics & epidural steroid injections in one's spine...
and the hubby making sure i stay off my feet...
not to mention the horrific typos
(& me having to read everything at least 3x to catch them)
i haven't been the best at updates.

today however is my dad's birthday and i wanted to wish
him a happy birthday, even though i'll be seeing him later...
