it's friday...

what?
there was no top 3 thursday?
well, no, there wasn't.
why?
well...yesterday was field trip day...
and if you don't follow me on twitter...
well, then you really have no idea what you're
missing (which is really nothing)
but yesterday might have been the exception to that rule.
woohoo 1st grade field trips!
we went to a woodland park that has 3 ponds...
a creek...tons of woods and animals...and of course...
mosquitoes...black flies and horseflies...
now, let me preface this by saying...i LOVE kids...
love 'em...
however, look at a couple of equations for me...
(pulled straight from my twitter...)

is on a schoolbus with 2 classrooms of 1st graders...
headed for a pond field trip

30ish 6 & 7 year olds + bus road noise= crazy loud
~
2 busses + 4 1st grade classes (67 kids) =
unimaginable noise and immeasurable amounts of crazy...

seriously...take the time to imagine it.

now...
did the kids have fun?...of course!
did i have fun?...yes!
would i do it again?...without a doubt!

was i exhausted last night?...you betcha!



it wasn't the hiking, the walking, the bus ride...
it was pure emotional drain.
and in talking with a couple of the other parents...
(moms and dads) they felt the same.
i do feel the need to throw this out there...
i am SO very thankful that i have a daughter.
wow.
6 & 7 year old boys are a handful.
but then again...some of the girls were too.
maybe it really doesn't have as much to do with
boy vs. girl...
i should just say i am SO thankful that i have munki.
almost every one of those kids did something incredibly
charming and cute yesterday...
(at least the ones i was around)
and some of them also shared their polar opposite side.
kids are amazing little creatures.
