hello there...

i'm going to skip tellafriend tuesday today...
i'm making some small changes to the blog
and trying to clean up the computer a bit.
not that you really need another place to find me...
or that i need another place to be found,
but i finally started using my tumblr last month
and you can find that here...

everything in between...

now, i really need to get some sewing done.
tomorrow will find me starting to pack more things
into boxes and bins.

one last thing...

& i love her so very much.

usually, i post BuNnY MoNsTeR pix of some sort...
but today...well...
this is definitely not a monster...

this little bunny arrived on my doorstep today.
i've tried and tried to get my hands on one of these
for a few years now.
admittedly, i didn't want to pay full price (for my first one...)
so they kept slipping through my fingers on ebay and the like.
then a fabulous girl named wendy bought a BuNnY MoNsTeR
more than a year ago.
wendy works at a doll store...
wendy owns LOTS of dolls...
wendy offered up an awesome trade...
and now i finally have my first bjd.
everyone warned me that once i had one,
i'd want more.
thankfully, i only want the bunny bjds.
because i definitely do want more.

it's rainy here...but it's the beginning of a new week...
and i love new beginnings...

urchin magically appeared in the etsy shop
and almost as quickly, the awesome sally monster
magically snatched him up. i couldn't be happier
about who he is going to live with.
i try to explain this to people...
but sometimes, it's really difficult to send these guys
off to their new homes.
not so with sally.
i am always delighted when they go to her...
she has a few of my very favorites.

still working on a handful of customs...
but should be able to update the shop again soon.

usually it's tellafriend tuesday...
this week i am going to do something slightly different.
generally, i send you to somebody's etsy shop...
this week, i am going to ask a favor of you.

i'm asking for donations of all shapes and sizes for
the ConnieCaps fundraiser, scheduled for may 16th.

not too far back i told you about my friend, linda...
and put up a video about ConnieCaps.

i'll quote from her site...

Here at ConnieCaps, we provide cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy with beautiful, stylish, and hand-crafted hats free of charge. All of our hats are made from quality materials hand-knit by volunteer knitters. Please get in touch with us if you are currently in treatment for cancer, and would like a hat. We would love to make your day a little better with a hat that is as special as you are.
We are a 501(c)(3) corporation, which means your donations are tax deductible. If you'd like to donate, please go look at our donation page. We have multiple ways to donate, and only a small amount helps keep us running. If you would like to volunteer to knit, or have further questions about hats or donations, feel free to contact me!

i understand that sometimes people don't want to donate
to lesser known charities and the like...but i can personally
vouch for linda and the amazing things she does.

to my friends and family and blog followers...
this is an amazing charity born out of love and compassion
and also the love of knitting. please consider donating even a small
tax deductible amount to such a worthy cause.
it will definitely help out someone in need...
and it might just make you feel good too.

i lost a day...

well, not really.
i just forgot to post anything yesterday.

but today is tellafriend tuesday...

i've mentioned her several times before,
but i really think you should take the time
to visit the shop of someone i gladly call friend...

i bought my first jacabunny about 2 years ago,
& now look at my little collection...



go ahead...go get yourself one...
you can't have mine.

aside from those little creatures of awesome...
she also makes stellar things like this...

and for even more , you should visit her flickr...
and be sure to check out some of her other stuff...
like jabba the hutt as a youngin'...
(yes, seriously & you KNOW i love star wars!)
and you should see what she can do with skulls & such.
beyond all of that she is one of the nicest people
you could ever hope to meet.
her creations make me quite happy and swoony.
and because of her,
i have been inspired to try some needle felting of my own.
since i wasn't quite sure how to go about getting what i needed to begin...
i bought a kit from fancytiger on etsy.
the kit includes everything you need to try it out.
you get several colors of wool roving...
a foam safety cube...
a barbed felting needle and easy to follow instructions.
i found it quite simple.
i strayed a bit and tried out some small variations...
but for the most part stuck to the directions.
i didn't give this guy arms,
simply because i liked how he looked without them.


and he even has a cute fluffy tail...



do yourself a favor and go visit kit...
you won't regret it...

i don't think you realize how much your pictures
and kind words mean to me or how much they inspire me
on a daily basis to continue creating.

you see...i ♥ sally...immensely...
for SO many reasons...
i 'met' her via flickr a couple of years back
& she was my very 1st etsy sale.
since then...
i have grown to adore her
beyond what i can find words to describe.
she's a lovely person and dan is a very lucky man.
but...
i've also come to discover that dan is pretty awesome too...
they're a lovely couple.
i'm so glad they found each other.
i'm giddy at the thought of them and their love...
it should be a movie...
